We recently visited a Spring plant fair and were delighted to find many producers selling chilli plants of different varieties plus one guy selling lots of rather special herbs and unusual edible plants! Tomatilloes yes we know them well, but Papalo, Aztec Sweet Herb, Rau Ram, Mexican Tarragon, Hysop.....??
I asked if I could taste some leaves, the chap was delighted, super knowledgeable but I think some things got lost in translation and my papalo might not be papalo at all.
Anyway, we shall be trying these herbs in our cooking over the next few weeks, and I am sure they will be added to our ever growing 'to grow list!
