Cookery classes

Learn how to cook authentic Indian and Mexican dishes in a fun, friendly environment
Small groups, hands on, perfect for beginners and competent cooks alike.
After many years running classes in the Languedoc we have recently moved house and now
offer our cooking classes in Miramont de Guyenne, Lot et Garonne.
Classes are priced at 50 euros per person and last approximately 4 hours. Tea/coffee upon arrival, a chat about ingredients, followed by hands on cooking. You will then sit down to eat everything we have cooked, drinks included. Recipe sheet provided.

In an Indian class
Learn how to make naans or chapatis, grind spices, make a curry paste,
cook fluffy, fragrant rice, make finger licking street food dishes or a traditional curry. 
Some of the dishes we cook, depending on the season: 
veggie samosa, onion bhaji, aloo gobi, jalfrezi, biryani, tadka dal, chicken curry.
In the summer we cook on the BBQ, dishes such as chicken tikka, lamb seekh kebabs,
Indian spiced potatoes with refreshing salads.

In a Mexican class
Learn how to make soft corn tortillas, make spicy salsas and creamy guacamole. 
Discover the flavours from different regions of this vibrant country.
Some of the dishes we cook:
achiote chicken, chicken tinga, fish tacos, chipotle steak tacos, Mexican rice, beans, mole

Classes are held on Wednesdays. However, if you have a group of 4 people feel free to request a date

What are we cooking?

Introduction to Indian

In this class we start with a cup of chai and talk about spices. We cook onion bhajis and a dip, we make naan, we toast and grind spices, cook a chicken curry. We cook pilau rice and a warming tadka dal. 

Indian Street food

If you love to snack this class is for you! I show you how to make authentic veggie samosas. We cook chicken tikka, nice and juicy on the BBQ.  A potato and chickpea sharing platter, plus chapattis or parathas for wrapping it all up in.

Introduction to Mexican.

In this class we make the all important salsas, corn tortillas from scratch, we cook Mexican rice and beans, fish tacos and a citrusy dish from the Yucatan - Achiote chicken. 

Classes start at 10am and last approximately 4 hours. 50 euros per person including food and drink.

These are group classes, for up to 4 people.
